We have been watching a live nest cam that was home to an osprey family last spring. We are wondering if the ospreys will return or if the owls that have been hanging around will stay. We decided which birds we thought would build a nest.
Catching up on photos
Hi everyone, For some reason I've been having challenges posting photos on the new blog for the past few days. Here goes another try! We have been learning new routines as a grade-one-only class. We are working on phonics, writing, math, daily five, printing and a read aloud every day. We are also working on social studies or science in the afternoons. On Fridays we started doing art projects and some more music. It is exciting to see the grade ones learn and grow so quickly during this stage of the year! Today we built our nests. They are all unique and interesting.
January 15
We have been exploring nests through looking at a live nest camera and examining a real nest.
A Great Day
With the new class configuration we have really been able to step up the literacy learning. We have started Daily Five literacy centres and daily writing. I started reading a novel to the boys as well! It really was a great day!
January 10
Today our classroom looks different! We have desks! The kindergarten students are now officially with their new teacher, Mrs. Temple across the hall. Here are some photos of our learning.
